AP Statistics

Hi guys.
I plan to take the ap stats test this year and im studying by myself. I only have the barrons review book and a graphing calculator. is it enough? is there any calculator program that i should know/get in order to get a 5 on this exam?

Thanks.

Eh, in my opinion no. I have the barrons prep book too and i wouldn’t have understood everything if i hadn’t bought a textbook too.

I mean you should definitely familiarize yourself with the Test functions, but that’s about it. Normcdf, invnorm, all those things save valuable time. Most of it’s in your calc so you don’t have to put anything new in.

I know AP Statistics is considered an easier AP, I think you’re starting a little too late. It’s not just conventional math.

I would take a lot of practice tests before feeling confident about the exam, especially as a self-study. Fortunately, Barron’s has a lot of practice problems and tests. I would also recommend getting familiar with all of the statistical programs on the calculator; they can save a lot of time and help you to check your work.

Also I made a post about AP Statistics and Barrons and it seems that the consensus is that Barron’s review questions and practice exams are actually than the actual test.

Yeah, generally people think that Barron’s is the best. I would believe it in terms of being over-prepared for the exam. That is a good thing if you want a high score. I’ve been going out of PR and it has been preparing me well. I took some practice questions from past exams and aced them, but you should be fine with Barron’s.

You can self-study with iPhone apps in your free time and it really adds up.
I used a really good one for statistics from: [Mobile learning | iPhone, iPad, Android | Education apps | Publishing & Development](http://www.getyalearnon.com/)
I got college credit from taking the AP without taking the course.
