Hey, I'm currently in AP Stats, which has to be one of the easiest APs there are. But, when I looked on college board, I saw that only 12.6 % get fives and the mean grade is 2.88. Is the exam incredibly hard or are people who take stats too stupid to take AP Cal?

people who take stats too stupid to take AP Cal?

Most AP tests are curved such that 15% receive a 5, 25% receive a 4, etc., so Stat is no different.

1) many really strong math students take both, but, yes, those fearing calc will take stats
2) Stat only requires a knowledge of Alg I, so, on the surface, it appears "easy" so kids don't study the complexities, which then comes back to haunt them on the test
3) Its a broad subject, and not all teachers cover everything. Reading the boards, it appeared that there was one free response Q in last year's test which a bunch of students had not covered. Fortunately, with some partial credit (put down a close formula for a point or two), a student can miss one complete free response and still earn a 5, as long as s/he aces the rest of the test. Otherwise, one missed free response practically means a 4 max.
