I really want to take AP Studio Art for my senior year, but that would mean that I would probably end up dropping AP Spanish. Do you guys think this is a bad idea? The grades aren't really a big deal for me, I would probably end up with around the same grade for both classes.

Bumpitty Bump :X

It’s really your choice.

Do you have your language credits done already? How about your Visual/Performing arts credits?

Would AP Spanish count as following up on two/three years of previous spanish classes? if so, it would probably be beneficial to take the AP Spanish.

If not, go ahead and take AP Studio Art.

It also depends on what you plan to major in… etc. If you want to be an artist … go take the AP Studio art.

in short : your question is quite vague and hard to answer because I don’t know your background… aaand ultimately, this is your own choice o_o

Well my interest is in Philosophy, Politics, Law, etc. I don’t plan on majoring in Art nor Spanish. But the thing is I really enjoy Art, and not so much Spanish. I currently have three years of Spanish under my belt, and AP Spanish would count as a follow-up of four years. It ultimately looks good for college, but AP Studio Art does have a heavy workload and I wouldn’t think that colleges would make a big fuss out of it. But i wanted to ask CC and see how others felt about this issue.

well, I’m that weird “artsy” kid at school who is almost tipping 50 art credits when I only need 15 … so I’m throwing in a vote for AP Studio Art.

It’s a challenging class but it’s ultimately very fun and rewarding :]

Which one does your school offer? 2D? 3D? Drawing?

Our school doesn’t have art credits, I actually haven’t taken any art classes in high school so far. We have “general elective” credits. But I do draw on my own and my dad went to art school, so I’d like to pretend I have some artsy-ness in me. :P

I think the AP Studio Art program in our school is a little bit of everything, I’ve seen my older AP Studio Art friends make paintings, charcoal drawings, and weird little figurines.
