AP Test score...How much will it affect me?

Hi sorry if this is in the wrong thread I wasn't sure where to post
Anyway, I'm planning on majoring in Computer science and my school choices are
UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, Caltech, Standford

Will a 4 on the AP computer science test really lower my chances of getting into either of these schools?

Stop worrying about your stupid scores. Get out, get a life, and get involved in things that you enjoy.

i’m guessing you’re going to be a senior this coming year? i’ll bet you that your top choice will change before may 1st, or even before whenever applications are due. but seriously? i don’t think it’s possible for a 4 on an ap test to hurt your chances of anything. then again, you probably wouldn’t think UC Davis is in the same category as stanford. (though may i say? i think it’s kinda funny that your top choices include both berkley and stanford. i live in the bay area, so i get the rivalry thing lol)

@ bsmd11…ouch

@bsmd11 says the person on college confidential right now…

To answer your question…
UC Berkeley: If you’re applying to the engineering school, possibly, since it’s pretty hard to get into. If you otherwise have excellent test scores and GPA, you should be fine.
Caltech: It will hurt you
Stanford: Well, it’s extremely hard to get into in the first place, so…

I second BSMD’s comment.

Nice guy:
They are just ap scores. Hey, you still got your personality!

Bad guy:
You’re a damn moron who deserves a community college.

Honestly, complaining about a 4 on an AP exam? That’s why I replied rudely; it’s ridiculous.

@FirstUsajmo, yes, I’m on college confidential, but no, I wouldn’t complain about a 4. If he didn’t pass, that’s a different story.

it would be too small to notice

I highly doubt it. Getting a 4 is still very good!

nbd, just make it to USACO and they’ll forget about your AP CompSci 4 :)

Getting a 4 on the AP Computer Science test is great!! Not everyone is perfect. I mean really, be happy with it some people get lower than that on AP tests. Keep up the hard work. If you did the best you can, you did the best you can enough said, colleges will know anyway.
