can anyone direct me to the credit given for AP tests at rice?
I looked but it seems like the link that i found was screwy.
I couldnt fricken believe the scores I got.
bio 4
macro 4
eng 4
cal 4
phys 4
stat 4
There is no way i'm going to accept all this credit

why not?

here is the AP section of the registrar
[AP & IB Credit | Office of the Registrar | Rice University](http://registrar.rice.edu/students/ap_ib.aspx#rec_ap)

and here is a pdf with all of the classes that credit applies to I believe
http://registrar.rice.edu/WorkArea/linkit.aspx?LinkIdentifier=id&ItemID=520

let me know if you have any other questions. Rice didnt let me transfer anything (as I did my later schooling outside the US) so Im not sure how helpful I will be

ok well that confirms it
it is my computer not the link

should i accept ap credits?
anyone have any experience in that matter?

If AP lit doesn’t give you distribution credit, and doesn’t place you out of a class, then what does it do?
amdn, wow all 4’s-- what are the chances?

Also, what do most people take after they place out of intro bio and intro chem?

amdn - the registrar site was giving me some problems too. try again or switch your browser??

the future-
well, depends on your major? if you are a chemical engineer or something, then you need to take Organic Chemistry and Physical chemistry. if you are a physics major, you dont need any more chem. so you are done

both of you -

recommended is - if you have more classes in the field, dont take the AP credit. like if you have physics 1 and 2 credit, but you need to take physics 3,4,5 take the classes. If you only need those to satisfy requirements and you arent going into that field, take the AP credit and save time.

so basically, if you have math 101 and 102 credit and you arent gonna be taking many more classes in math, just accept it and test out. i know a few people who got credit for 101 and 102 but took 102. (101 is really easy)

that clarify your questions?

I don’t know what I want to major in, maybe econ. But I just wanted to take some more science classes for fun, or to see if I want to do hard sciences instead of social sci. That’s normal, right?

So should I go into math 102 even if I got a 5 on the BC test?

well, you can take the AP credit. and sit in the class and see how it goes. if you like it, take the class and you forfeit the credit for that class.

its nice to have the credit, in case you dont feel like taking it at all. or you like math but hate chemistry etc.

make sense?

ap scores came out already???

looks like it??? dunno the site is vague as hell

[AP Grades ?AP Test Scores](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>View Your AP Scores – AP Students | College Board)

APUSH: 4. YES!!! :):)
Chem: 3

Oops…wrong thread. :)

@pyles_m:

You can call the AP Scores by Phone number and retrieve your AP scores for an $8 fee. The College Board states the service is not available until July 1st, but the service is actually available and the service will state your scores.

8 bucks for the scores???

serious? thats criminal

I am glad I don’t have to deal with the College Board ever again… they rip you off on every service they offer.

the college board is non profit for tax purposes only
they are money whores
sorry that i’m bitter, testing fees/ score sending fees came out of my summer savings

(but yes, i payed the darn 8 bucks!)

Plus 12 bucks to get your SAT scores over the phone for poor people without access to internet. That’s terrible. ^^

ouch man. im sorry. My parents paid for that… at least the scores ended up great!

@amdn:

I would have waited to call on July 1st if you have not posted your scores on this thread I did not know College Board released the scores earlier than July 1st.

ya they often jump the gun in order to forgo a pile up on their phone lines
i can see thousands of CCers calling in the morning of July 1st

yah, they released the grades, I called yesterday as well…
