AP Test Starts Over 3.5 Hours Late

My daughter took 2 AP test today. She arrived at 7:30. Test time was to begin at 8:00am. That never happened. The administrators of the test center were not prepared at all according to my daughter. Lines were extremely long, causing some to wait over a couple hours. Students were shuttled from one room to another trying to figure out where they should give the tests. Proctors finally started at 11:30am, four hours after my daughters arrival. She finished her 2 tests by 2:00pm.

Is this a common occurrence for this type of a test. It seems to me that test of this magnitude should run as smooth as butter. So much is riding on the outcome for these students. Creating confusion and added angst is no way to administer a test.

Are there officials or someone who can rectify this terrible mishap and make it right. Is there such a thing as a do-over. Thanks for the help.

If I remember what happened at my AP testing center, they shouldn’t have even taken the exam [perhaps move on to take the make-up?]

Are you referring to subject tests? Nonetheless, that’s very unusual and you should report it to the College Board.

Probably the subject tests. I’d say to contact CB, sure lots of people will be angry, but hey, it’s better to stay safe and be selfish in that situation.
