A rather random question, but if I do poorly on an AP exam or two, will colleges disregard my grades the entire year and will it harm my in my chance of getting in?

For example, my calculator died today in my AP Statistics exam and I don't think I did very well. Despite having an A the entire year, would colleges look down upon my score? Also, are AP scores automatically put on a transcript, or can I just not send it when applying? I got a 5 last year in Calculus and AP Euro, so could I selectively choose what to send?

Thank you!

First off, you self report your AP scores. Whether you want to include them is up to you. A low AP score could signal that the AP class you took may not have been up to the AP standards...but if it's a low score just don't include it in your app. If you've been granted any distinction from College Board regarding AP's (AP scholar, etc.) definitely do include that. I forgot to self-report my scores to Stanford, but I included that I had received some AP honors. I got in.

You only send your AP scores officially from College Board after you enroll in college. The office of the registrar at the college will use the official report to grant you any credit from AP tests.
