AP US Gov and AP Euro

hey  I will be a sophomore next year and I have had several scheduling issues… I had to drop Latin 3 and picked up Honors Bio… Mostly, however, the counselor had me drop AP Euro (3 tri class with almost all sophomore honors kids) and pick up AP Gov (2 tri class that is the senior honors social studies)… I have no clue what to expect, as I don’t know much about the class, and it will be filled with mostly seniors and several juniors who also have schedule conflicts… I am the only sophomore to ever take it in our school, and therefore I am rather scared  what is your opinion–is AP Gov very difficult? if I planned to take Euro (and probably get an A in it), do you guys think that I could handle the change? I have no problem with the upperclassmen–it will probably be fun to have classes with them rather than my regular classmates, and I know a lot from SciOly, Mu Alpha Theta, and band… sorry, I am rambling… so overall, what do you guys think? thanks ahead of time!!!

I have taken all three of them, and I can honestly say I loved them. They were fun, informative, and if you like social studies, than you should take them. Gov is not hard at all, especially if you are familiar and/or interested in the workings of our government. It sounds like you are a capable sophomore, you will be fine. I took both Gov and Euro as a sophomore, and I loved them both (and got A’s  )

Take Euro eventually, though. It is very interesting and my favorite of all the social studies AP’s (of which I have taken all but AP World; they do not offer it at my school.)

Thank you so much!!!

The AP Social Sciences (not Comparative gov lol) that are not history all are about on the same level. Not too hard if you can put in a lot of common sense rather than focusing on memorizing key events as in history.
