I’m a sophomore considering taking AP® US Government and Politics and AP® Comparative Government and Politics independently next year along with 6 academic classes. I was wondering if anyone has taken it and how difficult you thought it was. I have taken American Government which should be helpful. Also if you could provide some background on what you think your strengths are, how many hours a week you spent learning the material, and what you scored on the exam. Thanks!
For me it’s been harder than APUSH, APWH, AP Econ, AP Psych, and APHG (all the histories/social sciences I’ve taken) combined. My teacher is a nazi tho so probably not a good example
Maybe not then lol…Which one did you find the easiest/least time consuming? @LordBendtner
Btw love your prof pic, classic!! Sad Rand dropped out tho @LordBendtner
I loved AP Comparative Gov and Pol, but I’d definitely say it’s easier than APUSH. It (obviously) has to be more general because you’re covering information on so many more countries.
@girl4264
In my experience
Easiness:
- AP Psych
- APHG
- AP World History (though I had the easiest teacher)
- AP Econ
- APUSH (Had the hardest teacher)
- AP US Gov (Had the hardest teacher)
I made As in every class except gov (which I am currently taking 2nd semester and it’s only a semester class)
In terms of how time consuming each class is it really depends on the teacher but the general theme I see is
Psych and APHG are the least time consuming
AP Econ and AP Gov are more time consuming but still fairly decent
APWH and APUSH are very time consuming
And I’m sad but not surprised by Rand’s ultimate demise. He ran a pretty pitiful campaign.
Thanks @LordBendtner ! Oh Rand, he was a character.
I found AP US Government pretty straightforward with prior APUSH knowledge. I self-studied the exam last year and got a 5. You should be able to do well with a good teacher and review book. Good luck!
