AP US History: How far along is ur class?

Cold War and does anybody know up to what topic we're supposed to know for the test?

I'm not sure, but I assume anything that happened as early as yesterday could be on the AP, I mean it is History after all. But I'd assume they cut it off in like 2005 or something.

The years from 1750-1945 are the most heavily asked though.

:) :) :)I FINISHED :) :) :)

In one of the Princeton Review books, it talks about how far we're supposed to know. I think I remember reading there might be a few multiple choice questions about recent history (1990s-current) but nothing major like FRQs or DBQs.

1950s (Eisenhower)

My class uses AMSCO, and we've finished 27 chapters out of 30, so we're almost done.

We're having a test on the Cold War tomorrow, so I think we're right on track. I feel really bad for anyone still on the Civil War!

We finished the American Odyssey over summer and September, and finished the American Pageant by the first week of February; it's an insane pace of 3 chapters per week.

For the past month and a half, it's been review and doing old Free Response and DBQs.

^I agree, I feel terrible for anyone STILL on the Civil War.

~iliah

We finished "Industrial America" leading up to the 20's and then digressed back to "The Last Frontier" covering railroads and indian wars. Of course second semester at my school for AP History begins to pick up the pace... we begin covering units in 2 class days or sometimes a whole unit in one night at night school. Other units we teach ourselves. Our teacher, the "Great and Infamous Dravecky," has one of the highest percentage-pass rates in the US though, so it must work. I'm not complaining...

umm... we are done with the New Deal

we took a test on Cold War/Truman and are on the Eisenhower presidency now

Hoover/1929 Crash

we just started the cold war

My class is the roaring 20's

You're fairly correct. Last year, the second question on the test was about Clinton and why he was impeached. However, the DBQ will never be from anything past 1975, I believe, and the essays won't go too far into the '90s, though there was a question about the women's movement of the '70s on last year's test (in part C so you had to choose 2 of the three topics).

Hey everyone! It would've been cool to encounter a thread like this last year when I took APUSH.

My class used the AMSCO review book. I cannot stress enough how amazing the review was and how helpful the chapter questions were!

Here's a link to the book on Amazon in case you're interested:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1567656609/sr=8-1/qid=1143348810/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-0115594-1416129?%5Fencoding=UTF8

Note: While the m.c. questions at the end of each chapter are PERFECT for AP Review - don't pay much attention to the included practice test's m.c. section (it's not as challenging as actual AP questions). I'd have to say that this is the book's sole weakness! Otherwise, it covers the AP curriculum thoroughly, sans boring or pointless details!

I also recommend this website for AP USH review: http://www.historyteacher.net/AHAP/AHAPCourseMainPage.htm
& take some quizzes @ http://www.historyteacher.net/USQuizMainPage.htm

Not only did this site + the AMSCO book help me to get the only 5 in my school - they also helped me score a 720 on the SAT II in USH.

And last but never least: http://apps.apcentral.collegeboard.com/RegWiz1.jsp

You should register on AP Central (it's free)! Check out past years' FRQs and DBQs. You may notice that the 2005 ones (on my test) weren't so bad. You can actually read certain selected students' answers. So, pay close attention to the response of higher-scoring students while also considering where the lower-scoring students are lacking.

I highly recommend you use all three resources!

I hope I've been of some help! If you need any more help, PM me! Good luck!

Right before the civil war...2 years at my school though... and this is the first
