I’m taking AP World History this year (and doing very well, I would say). However, the amount of work is absolutely immense. I’m talking 3hours+ a day, and the day before tests I basically get no sleep. Obviously, the AP Test hasn’t happened yet, and that’s just going to be another killer.

I would think it has less work (and less difficult material) because it covers the history of one country as opposed to the entire world, and a small time period as opposed to extending to the beginning of civilization. So, does AP US History have less work, or more work than AP World History?

Yeah, I’m also wondering what APUSH will be like compared to AP world. From what I’ve heard it’s going to be much more in depth. I’ve really enjoyed this year, so I’m hoping that next year for US will be the same.

APUSH is different than AP World; World is about themes more so than facts, and APUSH is cold hard knowledge about US history. A lot will depend on your class; I never had 3 hours of homework in AP World each day (unless I procrastinated or something).

APUSH, since it’s all about facts, is more in depth, but you’re right, it’s only about one country> Generally APUSH is considered to be harder, but it depends how much you like world history opposed to US. I’m an American history buff, so APUSH is definitely easier (and more fun) for me than AP World was.

APUSH is very in depth, from my experience taking it in high school. It’s not a broad subject; you’ll be expected to know many details, dates, and critical analyses of crucial events in American history very specifically.

I enjoyed APUSH and it prepared me well for future history classes. I also passed the APUSH exam but it wasn’t easy! It’s a really tedious class to manage sometimes. We had to read on average 80+ pages a week! :((
