AP US History vs. Concurrent US History

I’m planning my schedule for next year and my counselor brought up to me that instead of taking APUSH, to take it concurrently enrolled at the local community college during the summer, and study independently for the AP Exams. Do you guys think that it is a wise decision to take it concurrently or should I take APUSH?

I would suggest taking it at a local community college. Why?

Well, all you do is just read. A lot. Maybe a few discussions to understand why some actions took place, but other than that? NOTHING.

Lol, so, if you do take it at a college, don't shunt it away; otherwise, itll look bad to colleges and give a "warning sign" if they were to accept you.

my two cents.

Thanks Alot! :D That really helped me. Lately I've been so confused about my scheduling since I just transferred to a new school and I'm about to start my junior year which is so important for college admissions.

When you study independently for AP exams, try to do ones that your school offers. Here's the game plan I follow:

2-3 months before the AP, study the book. Note sections where you don't quite understand the concept/ideas.

A month before the AP, go to the review/study sessions your school might host. If that doesn't work, try having a friend help you with the sections you didn't understand (that you should have highlighted before).

By the time the AP comes, you should have a good enough grasp on the material to achieve at LEAST a 4. I would only suggest doing this with subjects like Environment, English, etc. Stuff like Physics C might be a bit too challenging to accomplish within a 3 month period.
