AP vs Honors

Thinking about switching to a new school that offers honors everything with limited a AP selection... My current school has quite a few AP (still not all of the ones that I would like to take) but no honors classes. Both offer a weighted GPA (5 pt scale) but will they be viewed differently by colleges?

Thanks :)

As I understand it, APs are generally more rigorous all across the board. Also, you obviously wouldn’t be able to earn any college credit for honors courses.

Get the APs, college credit is worth it!!

What grade are you going into?

In general though, I would recommend staying at the school with AP classes - colleges can see that your school doesn’t offer honors classes, so this will not hurt you in admissions. AP classes are considered more rigorous though (more competitive in admissions) and can earn you college credit.
