I'm preparing for the SAT II in World History. If I plan to take the AP World History exam as well, is it more difficult or is it basically the same content? Also, please comment on other SAT Subject Tests vs AP tests.

not sure if this helps but i took apush and ap chem and i took the respective subject tests in the same month so that i wouldnt have to study twice.
apush 4 and 660
chem 1 and 720

historys are almost the exacte same for the MC
but science sat 2’s are way easier

For me, I thought that the world history SAT II was WAY harder than the AP test. I took them both in 2009, and I don’t remember much about how I prepped back then. I had a really bad teacher and had to cram a lot of information at the end of the year. I guess the essays on the AP test saved me from a really bad score.

AP World - 5 SAT II World - 630 (my lowest subject test)

I took my SAT II’s in June right after AP testing. I was just kind of trying to kill two birds with one stone. Anyway, back to the point…I think it all just depends on your strengths. I know for me, US History MC was always really easy for me. I didn’t study for the AP test or the SAT II and I got 5 and 800 respectively. BUT on the other hand I studied really hard for AP Bio, I thought I was going to fail the test. I ended up getting 720 on the subject test, but I got a 5 on the AP test. I think it’s because AP tests have essay portions, which I’m usually better at.
Yeah so, anyway, personally I think the two tests correlate pretty well in terms of the MC sections, but you also have to take in consideration that AP tests are longer and include the long answer portions.
