AP World History Exam. Take and fail or not take?

Which is a better option? Take and get a 2 maybe 3; or not take it at all?

I have a B in AP World, but I really don't think I can get a 4 or 5...

edit: also, is it possible to pass the ap world history exam, solely from the princeton review, and other review texts similar to it?

if you don't think you can get 4 or 5, why don't you start studying? you got more than 7 weeks. that's a plenty of time.

What ckp said. I mean if you took the class and aren't even going to try the test, than you pretty much wasted a year. Because you could have been in honors world history and gotten an A. Just start studying now, the reason a lot of people fail is because they start studying with not enough time left. You have plenty. Take it from me, I got a 4 on AP World, it's not that bad.

All you need to do is focus. Pick up the Princeton Review and Barron's AP World History prep book and you're on your way to a 4 or 5, if you pay attention to it. I would recommend reading Barron's first, since its more lengthy. After Barron's, read PR's because it is more succinct and relevant to the exam. You can go through a review book in a week if you read for about an hour a night and focus.

Oh and I forgot to add, I did no studying for my AP Test. Only what was taught to me in class and through reading the textbook. Now that I look back, that was a mistake, not studying probably cost me a 5. But yeah, the point here is it's not that bad.

Sorry I think I exaggerated a bit.

So it's better to fail, than not take at all? (Of course I will do best to get as high score as possible).
