Do any of you have any input; I took Honors World History last year at my school because they don't offer AP World History, but I stupidly forgot to sign up for the World History test. Any ideas or suggestions on what I should do this year to prepare for it?

I have a sophmore that took Honors World History as a freshman and was allowed to take AP world History this year. My son is ranked #1 in his class.
He would tell you that you must be committed and self diciplined about studying the course material. He spends a minimum of 1 to 1 1/2 hours per night reviewing or typing his notes from class. Sunday nights require more time than that.
You must really take into account what other obligations you have (sports, church activities, community and don't forget FAMILY time).
I hope this helps.

Take practice tests and know how to bs essays.

I took Honors World History as a sophomore and took the ap test (my school doesn't offer AP either), and scored a 4. Depending on how much you remember from last year, I don't think you really need to study for like over an hour per night. Since you already took the course, I think an effective way to review is to keep taking practice tests (they really worked for me.. esp. tests from Princeton and Barrons, many of their questions really reflect those on the actual test) and review lightly each week with a prep book. Princeton is great b/c its concise and has just about everything you need to know, but Barrons is an overkill.

Then again, this is coming from a person who got a 4 .. (but for the AP US test, I did almost the exact same thing..last 3 days before the test I crammed with Princeton and a bunch of practice tests and got a 5). Just try different ways and see what works best for you .. and my final suggestion is that don't worry too much about prepping for World History and think more about your current AP classes (even if you got like a 3 on World History it still looks good b/c its self study).

Hope this helps
