If you do really well on the multiple choice (~60 right), do excellent on the DBQ (~8), do well on the compare/contrast (~6-7), but do terrible on the change/continuity over time essay (~3-4), can you get a 5?

If you did THAT well on multiple choice, you pretty much guarantee yourself a 5 even with a 0 essay.

^ lol, no you don’t. You may guarantee yourself a 3 with that MC and 0 essays, but certainly not a 5. Even perfect MC wouldn’t get you a 4.

lol dude dont take what he said so literally. he just sayin if you get a 60 on the MC, you can write ■■■ essays and still get a 5

He didn’t state it in a way that allowed for such liberal interpretation. What he said was pretty straightforward.

lol ok man i’m not about to analyze what he said

Yes. But why would you do THAT badly on that essay?

People in this thread have a tenuous at best grasp of hyperbole, my God calm down people.

Yes. Using the lowest of the scores you provided on the essays, if you scored about a 60 on the multiple choice, you would have been comfortably in the 5 range under both the 2007 and 2002 modified scoring guidelines.
