A-San, in my AP World History class last year, we used the World Civilizations text book. Props to egzbaseballa77 for actually reading through it. It's very boring stuff.

There's really no need to buy a text book. I read the PRINCETON REVIEW prep (and only a few chapters from the text book) about two weeks before the AP test and I revieved a 5. The information PR picks out (especially the stuff they put in gray boxes) appeared on both the multiple choice and free response sections--it was great!

In response to some of the advice I read on this thread, I would like to stress that the AP World History exam focuses on the big picture and general patterns. While it would be to your benefit to be able to spit out facts in your essay, you definitely do not have to sit down and memorize facts for 4 months. As World History is known to be one of the easier AP tests, relax and just be confident in your ability as a test-taker.
