I am not really planning on majoring in history in the future, so would taking that class be a waste of time? How much will dropping out of WHAP and taking Honors WH2 affect my chances in getting into an Ivy League school?

I took WHAP last year and i was in the same boat, definitely have no intention of majoring in history at all, but i personally didnt think it was a waste and thought it was a good transition into the “world of AP classes.” I cant really answer for how much not taking one ap class would affect your college chances, but they will of course expect you to challenge yourself through high school. Also if you later decide to load up on AP classes in the future, for example an AP social studies like APUSH, the transition will be so much easier if you already have the skills taught in WHAP under your belt.
I don’t think the difference between one honors and AP course could make that big of a difference, especially since you are not intending to major in history. I’d say do the rigorous courses that you are interested in. Take WH honors and use that extra time to do something you’re passionate about.
