AP World vs. AP Euro

Which class is considered the most difficult & time consuming?

(I just received my schedule for next school year & I have both classes on the same day)

I took AP Euro last year and I heard it was one of harder APs you can take, so I’d assume it’s harder than world.

I took AP World last year, and it wasn’t necessarily challenging to master the content, but the volume of the work was the most I’ve had in any class. APWH was my first and only AP that year, though. I ended up getting a 4 on the exam with minimal studying. I can’t speak for AP Euro.

I took AP Euro last year and it was honestly one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. I spent at least 2 hours a night doing homework for that class and I put so much time into study and still didn’t do so well on the AP exam. I guess it just wasn’t for me; however everyone in my class struggled as well.
Anyway, I’ve heard many people say AP World is much easier than Euro, so i’d say Euro is much more difficult and time consuming.

If you need to study for Euro, you can use this channel on Youtube: <a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube;

Also, neither are too difficult, and taking them both should benefit as they have some overlapping content.

@stantonstudent um no ?

AP World has the lowest % of 5 this year while Europe is the 5th lowest. Last year they were second and sixth lowest respectively. This probably proves they are not as easy as you makes it sounds to be.

Back to the question of OP, AP Europe in my school is a must take class for all IB sophmore students while AP world and AP europe are allow for the normal and honor kids. I am very jealous of them as I would love to take AP world.

80% of WH and 50% of EH test takers are in 10th grade and younger. I think the low percentage of 5’s is more indicative to the preparedness and maturity of the student than the difficulty of the exam.

At my school, we don’t offer APWH, but Euro is challenging and there is no way I would ever take both in the same year.

AP world is like a rite of passage at my school. It’s challenging, but also important and teaches study skills, essay writing, and speed reading

I didn’t say they would be a walk in the park - they both require serious studying and preparation, but thats why they put the AP in front of them.

I took world last year when I was a freshman and got a 5. This year, I’m taking Euro and plan to get another 5.

If you pay attention in class, take notes, practice essays, and review, you should have no problem getting a 5 on either.

Also, before speculating on how hard the course is, why don’t you take a look at the material for the course.

@afroninja26 - same. AP World is the first AP available to students, sophomore year. It is the only AP class in the school that is referred to as just “AP”. Concerning the OP, AP World is extremely broad but much of the information you likely have previously covered in past history classes, just not as in-depth. There is a lot to learn in AP World so you have to be ready for large chunks of material at once. Good luck!

I have taken both AP tests after just taking AP World. It’s possible to just study world history and later use a review book to prep for the European history part.
