I was wondering if anyone knows of any apartments near campus with really good bus routes, or if anyone could even tell me what the best bus routes are. I've heard 9 is one of the best, but that's all I've really heard about it.

And soooooo while I'm at it (hehe), does anyone know just some generally well reviewed, not too expensive (max 600... that has to be with utilities included), individually leased, (if possible), clean(no big bug problems!!), and quiet (i'm not a huge party person) apartments? :D Also, I'm really looking for a 9-month lease because I don't plan on staying in Gainesville for the summer. As long as the rest isn't off the wall, though, I guess I could just pay it during the summer or find someone to take over my lease.

....After re-reading the above I guess I'm pickier than I thought. :) I'm from Louisiana and I've never been to Gainesville before (except I'm going to Preview in 2 days) and it's hard to look for apartments from long distance. Any recommendations at all would be great.

I mean, I've been looking around on the internet at apartment reviews, but it's hard to tell which apartments are good because I'm pretty sure only the people who want to complain actually take the time to write a review.

Thanks for any and all help!

The 9 is the best route.

I'd recommend looking at Gainesville Place, Campus Lodge, Oxford Manor, Lexington Crossing {I like Gainesville Place the most out of these}

For route 12: Take a look at Campus Club

I know that Melrose Place has a 9 month lease, it's on route 20. However, it isn't near campus although on a good bus route.

The Landings are also nice (it's on 13th street), also on a good route (13 I believe).

Realize that most apartments that are located right across campus aren't of the best quality and are loud. The apartments I mentioned may get loud (it all depends on your neighbors, hopefully you get a quiet building), but understand that it's a college town and it's an issue you have to deal with.

My DD is going to live at Oxford Manor (the 1 and 12 bus routes). It isn't cheap. I think that she is going to pay $580/month (higher end of local rent)for an individual lease in a 3 bed/3bath fully furnished townhouse apartment that includes utilities and cable tv and washer/dryer.
I know a few kids living at Campus Lodge but my D wouldn't look at it since it takes about 20 min to get to campus on the bus from there.
I knew someone who live in The Landings...that is a great bus route.

I signed a Lease with The Landings, and it is on Route 13. It's a smaller complex than most other apartments [i.e. Lexington Crossing, Gainesville Place, etc] and heard it was usually quiet with the occasional party here and there. The apartments are nice and the employees are very helpful. Route 13 is a good route and passes every 10 minutes or so and The Landings would be one of the first stops in the morning.

Oxford manor....i think i looked at those townhouses. it's gated right?

Yes, Oxford Manor is gated and at night the gate has a security guard. I have never seen it though. DD took care of her finding and signing her apartment herself. I just signed the guarantee (most places make parents sign rent guarantees) after the fact. She liked the "feel" and location of this place. I was routing for Campus Lodge (on heresay alone though). It is much further and a much longer bus ride from school but I had heard, that was "where it was at".
