Apartments

The prices start from $1,000, and the rates are per person, which means they have all individual leases. They also have a roommate matching program or something so you don't have to have roommates when you move in.

Yeah, kinda expensive for a shared apartment/bedroom. Think about it. Three bedrooms with two people to a room at $1000 each, that's $6000. I guess all utilities + cable + internet + laundry(?) is included.

Deuces,

I too would be interested in knowing how much South of Wilshire studios costs and where exactly.

Thanks.

yeah i guess 1k a month is pretty expensive in terms of shared apartments... so like if you only have 3 people trying to get a 2 br apt they just stick in a random person for you?

kickserve... you'll have to find a subletter if it's not university housing.

oh no i was just wondering how the rent thing works there, according to the guy above there he said like 1k per person... do they expect 4 residents in a 2 br apt or something? what if you only have 3 person (do the 3 people split the cost for 4 residents)?

You pay by the apartment (unless you're in university housing, works slightly closer to the dorm fee style). They usually have a max occupancy limit (5 for most 2bedrooms), and expect you to pay the sticker price + whatever utilities. If you can afford to pay for a 2BDRM with only 2 people, go for it, but most likely you'll be doing 4 people. If you had 3 per your example, you'd have to figure out someway between yourselves to split the full rent.

oh ok thanks deuces, i was mainly asking about the jefferson court ones since in most apartments they just tell me the total rent for the 2 rooms while on the jefferson site it only said 1k rent so i needed some clarification...

My friend's brother lived there and apparently (I could be wrong) it's like a dorm, in terms of how it's arranged. Like it comes fully furnished so they expect that many people to live there. I'm not sure what the policy is if you have like 3 desks etc but only 2 people...

I'd steer clear of Jefferson Court - expensive, and although furnished, it's cheap IKEA furniture.

Yeah, I think Jefferson Court's policy is pretty weird. And expensive. You could get a private room for that price elsewhere. I lived south of Wilshire for one quarter before, and I paid $1k for my own place and ~$30 for a permit for street parking. But, it really depends on how old it is and stuff like that.

thecheescake,

Was it a studio or 1 bedroom? And did it include utilities? And exactly what intersection? Thanks.

any idea about 1260 veteran ave? it seems a little pricey so was curious.

trying to find a private bedroom, but don't really want to pay more than 900.

Anybody here live in the university apartments? Specifically 558 Glenrock or Glenrock West?

If so, how do you like the rooms? And if you have a 2 bed/3 occupants set up, how does ucla decide who gets the single?

thanks

Don't live in 655 Kelton

^ i know a few people living there currently. :p

also, how fast do the apartments REALLY go?

i've heard first 6 hours of the first day, but that was like a random number thrown out there. anyone? (esp. glenrock 558)
