APES and AP BIO Cram

Well with one week to go, i need to start cramming for some ap's. I've been slacking, and now i'm trying to get the material in. any suggestions?

also, im half way through the barrons apes review book

suggestions?

advice of any sort would be helpful please.

ES is nothing. Review for Bio. I thought I was somewhat prepared for it (self-studying both of them) so I’ve been putting off studying. I just did pretty terribly on a mock and am now going to spend the next two weeks constantly studying for AP Bio. I’m using Campbell’s. I’m reading through the chapters, writing down what I don’t know, and reviewing. I’m probably not going to get a 5 - I think it’s an average score of 5 for all 4 essays and 75/100 MC for a 5.

Reviewing for Bio will help you on the ES test, which is easy enough already.

Go slackers!

thanks for the insight. yea, ES seems easy after I finished the review book for it just today… I just opened the book for Bio, and its…a pain in the rump. You were right… o_o.

I was wondering if the estimates you made (avg of 5 on frqs and 75 on mc) were made considering the fact that there’s no guessing penalty this year (meaning less of a curve). I’m cramming for the exam, and I’m using Cliffs, but I’m also wondering whether REA Crash Course is worth it also? Thanks!

Cliffs should be fine on its own, although it’s nice to have an actual textbook as well. I’m self-studying, and well, I’m not sure if you are, but… I have to say that I would not spend more for another book. Cliffs is highly recommended by most CCers and getting two books will make you more distracted by trying to match up information and then realizing that one has a couple more details than another (I was using PR before Cliffs).

You always CAN have another book, but honestly, I’d just pick up PR from the local library for the practice tests and be done with it.

Good luck on both exams! I’m considering just self-studying APES next year, but it depends on how well Bio goes.

APES actually has a lot of specific stuff you might need to know. Bio helps a little and a lot of the MC you can guess by POE, but there’s going to be some questions that are really specific and you won’t know unless you studied.

what about the FRQs? Any hard?

Princeton Review has so many errors…

^ I totally agree. It’s really annoying

bbuump so i dont lose this

What errors does PR have? For APES or Bio?

idk… I’m personally using Barron’s its soooo much more comprehensive!

PR has tons of errors for bio. Idk about APES because I haven’t taken it

Oh…yeah for Bio it definitely does.
However, I’m using it for APES, and it’s a godsend. :D

For APES as well.

Giving wrong compounds for ammonia and ammonium, misspelling words, giving wrong equations, etc.

Just to note, one example I found was the misspelling of ‘uranium’ in the same sentence: they spelled the word as ‘uraniumm’ one time and ‘uranium’ the second time.
