APIASF scholarship??

Do you have to apply for the Gates scholarship in order to get the APIASF one too?

No. They are two separate scholarship competitions. If you want both then apply to both.

Has anyone heard anything yet?

I’m going through paperwork and had written on this one that application status (winner/non-winner?) occurs in March 2011.

Thanks!
Lisa

I got notification on 4/22 by email that said:

We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to advance to the next round of the 2011 - 2012 Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) selection process. To verify your eligibility for further consideration, we must receive the following documents on or before Monday, May 9, 2011:

A copy of your Admission Acceptance Letter from the college or university you plan to attend on a full-time basis in the fall of 2011. You can send any Admissions Letter in your possession; it does not have to be the school that you will ultimately attend. If you are currently enrolled full-time in a college or university (i.e. you are not currently a high school senior), you do not need to submit an acceptance letter - your college transcript will confirm your enrollment.
A copy of your most recent High School Transcript (which must include grades up to the fall semester of the 12th grade), GED certificate or College Transcript (for those currently enrolled in college).
A copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR). This document will be mailed to you upon completion of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or will be available online if you filed electronically.
Please fax documents to the APIASF office at (202) 207-0408 as soon as they become available, mail it to 1900 L Street, NW, Suite 210, Washington, DC 20036, Attn: APIASF Scholarship Program OR email it to dbishundat@apiasf.org. It is your responsibility to ensure that all materials arrive at the APIASF office no later than Monday, May 9, 2011. Failure to do so will automatically withdraw your application for consideration.
