I know the admissions dont exactly work like clockwork and someone who turned it in nov 1 could hear back way earlier than some other person that turned it in on the same day...so do you think its merit/whos app was stronger that made the decision easier and faster? OR is it just really random

Two of my friends applied before November 1st. One got in weeks ago, and the other just got in last week. Both were very strong applicants. My guess is that the process is random.

Ohh, i see...does anyone know ifyou can call or anything and find out if a decision has been made? (not the actual decision itself)

two of my friends who were already accepted heard in about 6 weeks. both were finished about early november, so for ppl who had teir stuff done in early december/late november, i dont see it being TOO much longer than that. there was Xmas break though, so thats another week, id prob say about 8 total weeks then

That is about the timeframe that I have been expecting. I think the process will be a little slower for those of us who were completed around mid to late november, only because there were so many applicants around that time frame. The process is random, but those applicants who are very strong, and/or applied early, have heard back fairly soon. That is just my outlook.

I just think that too many people applied there and so they have to go through too many applications.

Bumping to the top. For all those with completed apps around this time...keep
us informed when you hear!

international
applied nov. 17, completed nov. 24, admitted jan. 12
ahhhhhhhhh im now relieved.....i got so anxious since i got rejected on EA.
anyways, u guys should be expecting to hear from michigan anyday now!!!!!!!!

I called the admissions office a few days ago, and they told me that I wouldn't hear back until late February/early March. I can't wait that long!

Congrats Chan...way to prove all those who said you had no chance wrong!

So as I was reading this thread I began to fear that my app may not be complete. I got the email receipt of app and then about a week later maybe 2 i got a "Thank you for applying to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. We have
received your application and have begun to process it. "

This seems to me like it is complete; however, a few lines down it also says, "If you have not already done so, transcripts must be sent directly from
the
educational institution you have attended. Likewise, test scores
must be
sent to us directly from the testing agency. ACT scores may be
requested etc etc"

So am I complete or not...?

Call them to make sure. Thats what I did, I had the same stuff in my mail btw.

I called January 7th and they said my application was in review...any idea how long it will be?

applied online nov 27
transcripts sent nov 18 (from NJ)
admitted Jan 12....so i;d say 5-6 weeks after app was complete

I applied online november 11th, got my acceptance letter January 15th..

You guys who applied mid to late november should be hearing soon, I sent in mine 11/30 and found the big package in the mail today!

I just got my letter! I GOT IN!!!! Yay! I'm so happy! I don't know what the lady in the admissions office was thinking when I called her last week. She told me I wouldn't hear back until March!

I applied November 15th, and I just heard today! :)

Applied Dec 7, Completed Dec 13th, so I guess I still have a nice big wait left

got my admit letter today: application in 12/1/04; complete 12/13/04, 1/14/05 date of acceptance letter from Univ Mich; got letter 1/18/05.
