i am asking in ED round.

"How come on the common app supplement (online) Princeton only asks for two essays of 250 words each, yet on the Princeton official supplement (online) it asks for three essays, one 500, and two 250?"

I just checked the Princeton official supplement online (from Princeton website), the one with editable fields. It only asks for 2 additional 250-word essays. (The Official supp w/o editable fields was 404 not found for some reason...)

hmmm perhaps i mean the online application found on their website https://cas.princeton.edu/sso/login <---- if you log on and go to the last tab (essays) it asks for three essays... however the common app asks for two of 250 each. curious no?

does anyone know the answer to my question?

they ask for the fall courses in the reg. app, verified by the midyear school report filled out by your GC. For accepted and deffered, you send in another school report in the spring which verifys grades from the fall sememster and lists courses for the current semester.

Because on the common app supplement, they are already assuming you wrote a 500 word essay for the actual common app.

Arioch, I think the application that has the long (500 word) essay is the Princeton's own application, which is not the same as the Princeton supplement to the Common application. You can do either the Princeton application or the common app with the Princeton supplement, they're practically the same, except for the 500 word essay, which is replaced by your common app essay.

That website is the Official Princeton Application. It's their ENTIRE school application, not the supplement to the Common App. It asks for 1 500 and 2 250s altogether. If you fill out the supplement, it only wants 2 250s because you already have 1 500-word essay with the Common App.

Edit: Okay, yeah people up there have already finished explaining xP

any one have an extremely hard time with this section?! I just have too many favorites!

I know, I'm not sure I really have a favorite movie because I like so many. The same with "recordings". I guess I'm just going to have to pick one. Would they care if I wrote do my two favorites if I find that I just can't decide?
