Appalachian State University Early Action 2022

@xyxyxx - I remember you from another thread but not the details - where else is your D applying? Mine is NCSU, UNC plus today she’ll hear from Fordham! Not nervous or anything.

ok, Thanks

@byadg123 I think it was a thread in the UNC section. She applied EA to UNC, State, Dickinson, Ursinus, Roanoke, UA and UAB. The last three were late additions, when I started to panic over her not having enough options. I felt we hadn’t done enough research. She’s been accepted at UAB and Roanoke.

Hope you’ve heard from Fordham by now!

@xyxyxx. Accepted to Fordham-Lincoln Center! #2 choice. #1 is Barnard but applying RD so won’t know for months. UNC wouldn’t suck either but also won’t know for months.

@byadg123 Congrats on Fordham!

Has anyone gotten the actual letter yet?

@MrsShark Got the letter yesterday

Also yesterday.

Has anyone heard from honors college or Watauga residential college?

Is it odd/worrisome that D2 hasn’t heard? She applied in mid-November (i think she just missed the EA deadline). She has a 1230 SAT and 3.8 u/w GPA (4.6 w). App is her “safety” and she’s comfortably above the averages of our accepted students. Was accepted to Marist w/merit which is a little tougher by the numbers.

@byadg123 if she goes on her portal it should say when she submitted her application. Early deadline was November 15 decision by January 25 (which ended up being December) then next deadline was I believe Feb 1 notification by March 1 then finally March 15 notified by April 5. My sons portal said he had met the November 15 deadline so I would assume hers would say something similar.

@katfuller95 my son is also anxiously waiting to hear from honors and Watagua also. I believe I read on here that some where notified last year around the middle to end of January. So hopefully soon. Good luck.

D2 is very stressed right now so I’m trying to not bring it up - that’s what you guys are for! D1 got in and there is a fair amount of under the surface competition between them. It’s just the beginning since D1 made the EA deadlines for App, UNC, and NCSU. D2? Not so much.

My son is also super stressed waiting for his NCSU and Vtech decisions. Both of mine had different attitudes when it came to applying. Believe it or not my son has been on top of everything more than his sister was 2 years ago. But all worked out because she got into her first choice of NCSU and college of design. But still stressful for parents either way.

Both D’s have anxiety fueled paralysis. I can’t wait for this to be over! At one point, D2 was hoping for NCSU Design but decided against it. She applied for that exploratory studies (or whatever they call it) program.

Just seeing this thread (I think). S18 got in EA as well as USC and UNCW. He’s also applied to App’s Honors College and is still waiting on that. And he’s still waiting to hear from UNC, NCSU and Va Tech! Funny, when I asked a moderator about an ASU page, she said there wasn’t enough interest. That surprised me given the size of the school

There’s design studies and then the college of design which has a completely different admission process. It was so nerve racking when she alpplied and then had to interview. My son is going for computer science, i think he picked exploratory as second at ncsu but he wish’s now he would have put something different. Good luck to both your daughters.

@byadg123 my S18 also applied for Exploratory Studies. It’s his first choice. 3.5 more weeks!

@sjms71, D2 was going to apply for Graphic Design until she did a design camp this summer. She had a great time and did some good work but decided that it wasn’t for her.

@chb088 I’d be very surprised if there was less interest in ASU than there is in UNC-A. They could probably have a combined forum for all UNC schools except CH.

Good luck to both your sons!

@byadg123 it’s good she was able to see it wasn’t for her before she got to college and figured that out a semester or 2 into college.

Next round of decisions are up- son received an acceptance through his portal this afternoon. He had his application in by 10/15 and was notified he would hear by 1/25.
