Appeal and waitlist process (UCs)

Hi fellow ccers,

I wanted to appeal my decision to UCI and UCD after being rejected and as far as I know you can include a teachers letter of recommendation to your letter. What should I direct my teacher towards discussing to make my case stronger?

I was also waitlisted to UCSB and UCSD and was wondering if for UCSB sending a LOR and appeal would help my chances of getting off the waitlist or if it would hurt me more. SD on the other hand already asked for a 200 word statement so I was thinking whether it would be beneficial to send in a LOR as well?

again thank you for reading my post

The websites have information about their appeal and waitlist requirements and what they want. Be warned though that appeals very rarely go through, and they most likely will only tell you if it DID go through in June, and you would be a spring admit. The purpose of appeals is if you have ‘new and compelling’ information that you think the UC has not seen.
