Does anyone know if you can appeal admission decision? I was rejected for having “too many” credits, even though I dont’t agree with this. I currently have a 3.9 GPA at Florida International University and I was looking to transfer to the school of engineering. The lady who is in charge of my decision was very unprofessional and unwilling to give me any kind of help or advice. She basically ignored me for two weeks, and only responded to me when other counselors forwarded my emails to her. I spoke to several guidance counselors there and they told me they don’t understand why I’m not getting in. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this kind of case. I have 99 credits at the moment im still missing pretty much all my upper division classes. I was told by current advisor at FIU to go up there and talk to someone personally but i dont know who. What department is the most suitable for this?
If you have 99 credits but haven’t completed many upper-division classes that actually could be problematic. The issue would be that you likely would not be considered “on track” in engineering, which is why you wouldn’t be accepted.
