Appeal for scholarship?

Wow, so many replies on this thread! So I just wanted to clear stuff up – yes, I did apply to Pitt because it’s historically generous with merit money. But I also really like the school and I think it has a great program for premed, which is what I’m pursuing. I’d be very happy to go there. But currently, with the money that I’ve received, it would be $20,000 cheaper to go to Rutgers over four years. However, I vastly prefer Pitt to Rutgers, which is why I’m hoping for more money, since my parents want me to go to the cheapest school if it comes down to Pitt or Rutgers.

Only thing is that I’m in-state for Rutgers and not Pitt, so it’s kind of obvious that Rutgers should be cheaper. Does that make a difference? I’m also not sure if I should mention that my parents are moving to PA anyway next year (completely unrelated to Pitt, just for my dad’s job).

When your parents move to PA, you will be eligible for in-state tuition.

After 12 months of your parents living in PA, are you eligible for in-state tuition (as well as ineligible for Rutgers in-state, I would think)

Hello,
I was reading your response regarding scholarship. When you appealed to University of Pittsburgh ,did they end up offering you more money? Did you solely talk about your academic grades or did you talk about financial issues too?
Thank you…I am looking to appeal a scholarship my son received.
