Stupid Mistake for Scholarships!

So I think I realized why I didn’t receive a higher amount of scholarship from Pitt when I applied. Originally, when I applied I only had my SAT scores which were at 1360 (CR: 680, M: 680). I then received my acceptance letter and completely forgot to send in my new ACT score (English: 34, Math: 35). I’m so stupid for forgetting to send them to Pitt because I sent them everywhere else. These lower SAT scores are possibly what prevented me from receiving an academic scholarship because it’s below the 1450 cut off. All of the other requirements that I’ve read about online I fulfill. Is it even wort contacting admissions/financial aid now? Can they do anything about it?

Well, you should still contact and ask, but I doubt you’ll get any improvement. Maybe for your second year? Either way, you should definitely still ask if you plan on going.

I planned to forget about Pitt when they offered me very little money, which I was confused because of my higher ACT scores. It just sucks now. Is there any chance that they’d reconsider my situation so late?

You need to call and ask asap. Admit that you mistakenly didn’t send your updated ACTs (mention your mathand whether the scholarship committee would reconsider your application. There are no reconsiderations for UHC merit at upperclass years except for very specific school/usually smaller awards.

Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer

Aw :frowning: I know this is a little late, but I went through a similarly disappointing/depressing situation. I applied after the Jan. 15 deadline and didn’t inquire about scholarships until I visited in late march. They are paying $10,000 a year now, which is nice, but a staffer informed me that had I applied before the deadline I would have most likely been granted full cost of attendance. But eh, you live and learn, and I’m excited to attend such a cool University.
