I recently was rejected from The College of New Jersey. I want to write an appeal letter to them. Who should I write to and should it be email or through mail?
I wouldn’t bother, Unless they made an outright clerical type of error an appeal letter will do no good. In another post you say you have a "3.3 GPA and low SAT and ACT scores so it is unlikely that the rejection was due to a mistake. Use your time to focus on the schools you have been admitted to.
They never said anything about appeal letters. So it’s okay for me to write one.
You can write one, I’m just suggesting it is a waste of time and energy. But go for it if you really feel an error was made.
The only time an appeal letter would be applicable is if there were some major error in the applications…GC sent letter for wrong person or omitted major info about you, College Board sent wrong SAT, etc
Colleges don’t take appeal letters just because you wanted to get in but didn’t.
Also take a realistic look at your SAT/ACT GPA and that of admitted students and see where you fall.
Here is a scatterplot to look at.

Yes, there may be some admittances around your scores, but they may be recruited students/athletes.
