I was thinking the EXACT same thing today. I want to appeal my decision and just gush about how much I NEED to go to their school, and if not, at least tell me why I got rejected so I can improve for next year.

I called SPS and asked if all decisions were final, and they said yes, but I didn't exactly say that I wanted to appeal my decision.

as far as i know there isn't an "appeal", sorry. if you're on the waitlist, you are already the kids the admissions officers would choose, y'know? they ranked all the applicants, and X amount got in, and Y amount are on the waitlist. if you didn't make either cut, i don't think there is anything to do. Sorry. :(

I'm sorry, but you really shouldn't. What grade are you in? Just reapply next year. And you don't "need," them, if they don't appreciate you that's their problem. If you call and make a huge fuss it'll just really annoy them (imagine how many other people are doing that), and probably lower your chances if you do reapply.

nope

nope - it would hurt not help. No school wants a high maintenance family.

I know you WANT to go to Andover but you don't NEED to. I am certain you can be quite successful in life without Andover!

im applying for ninth grade now.. but ive heard that tenth is even harder...

no offense Sofi, but i doubt that there going to write down "this kid applied in 2008, and make a big fuss about an appeal. If he applies again, reject him.

If you make a big enough fuss, they'll might...But you're probably right. Doesn't hurt to be careful though, and since appealing probably won't help you, why risk it?
