<p>I'd rather spend 2 yrs at a CC and transfer to somewhere I like with more money in my pockets than to spend 4 yrs somewhere I didn't want to go to in the first place.</p>

sigh, No UCs for me , I def. didn't like UCSC (the only UC i got into) when I visited so private schools it is! Ugh, they are just so much more expensive.</p>

<p>Just found out I was rejected. I appealed to Cal too (found out I was rejected there this morning). It's slightly discouraging...then again, it's only undergrad.</p>

<p>Mine was sent at 3:45PM PST, and I just happened to check my email when I got home from school at around 4PM.</p>

<p>I got rejected too, but I don't care anymore. Going to Davis would've been nice because I could still go snowboarding on the weekends (I'm from the Sacramento area), but if none of my other appeals go through, I'll be happy at UCR <em>and I'm not saying this out of denial</em>.</p>

<p>ughco11ege, I also didn't really like the vibe at UCSC (it was a little too secluded for my tastes), which is why I'm choosing UCR. Despite the dirty air, I felt it was a better fit for me. I was actually pleased with the campus (it wasn't as ugly as people make it out to be, and I think UCR doesn't deserve all the bad press it gets). I really liked the suite-style dorms, too.</p>

GPA: i think 3.8
ACT: 31 composite
i had about a billion ap classes
a job my sophomore, junior, and senior year
tons of community service
and in my appeal i talked about stress from eating disorder and stuff and i had a lot of letters of rec, including one from the state assemblyman and teachers, etc</p>

<p>In answer to yosi_chic as to why UCR over CS long beach. Partly because it is a UC school. Partly because the dorm guarantee (CSLB did not have one but was told I would get in if I paid the deposit by 4/18), partly because it has some courses that I am interested in that CSLB did not have, and partly because UCR is less of a commuter school.</p>
