Hi, Everyone! I am an international student and i am currently in my junior year in college. Today i have received the not admitted letter from UCSB saying that I did not meet the minimum standard of the UC campus requirement. But I have already completed my two English courses before this winter and the 1 transferable required math course this winter. I am also completed all the categories that UC specified in the IGETC sheet. The only thing is that for one music class i took before i have earned a D but i also took another 3 more courses in that art categories. My gpa before winter in 3.36 and after this winter is 3.37. Can anyone tell me is there any possible for me to appeal and what is the biggest reason that i got rejected? I can submit the transcript this spring and also a good recommendation letter.

btw my major is communication

Yours is one of the few where I think you actually have a decent chance, if you are right, and they simply misread your satisfaction of the requirements. They had 80,000 applications this year, and mistakes are certainly possible. I’d give it a shot.

Do you think the D i received in music is the reason that harm my admission?? thank you very much for you help

I don’t know their reason, but if you are right and they misread your record and think you haven’t fulfilled the minimum course requirements, showing them the error could help.

I know for non-California residents the minimum GPA requirement is a 3.4. Not sure how it works for international students, but perhaps that’s why
