Appeal while on waitlist

I just got waitlisted from UCI (and UCSB..) but I was wondering if it would be smart to appeal. I guess the only thing I can say is that I've had my highest GPA this senior year and probably can provide strong letters of rec. Would I really need to have extreme information such as death or injury?

I would think appealing would demonstrate strong interest in attending the campus.. but correct me if I'm wrong.

You have a better chance of being accepted off the waitlist then by appeal.

Oh, I’m asking if it’d help if I appealed while I’m on the waitlist. :x

It probably wouldn’t. They’re out of spaces. At best, you’d get on the waitlist if you appealed…but you’re already on the waitlist.

No, you shouldn’t. I was also waitlisted and talked to my counselor about appealing and he said that “I have no reason to.”
