appeal

does anyone know how to appeal a uf rejection?

You need to email them and ask for one. Include your UFID. They will send you a packet in the mail.

hey dvm, did u send in your appeal packet yet? i already did

u deserve to have your appeal to be over ridden satscholar

Yeah, I sent it last week. I was really making sure my letter was perfect, to the point I spent an entire evening trying to choose the right wording for one sentence. Finally, I just decided I was being paranoid and just sent the letter so I didn't have to think about it anymore.

lol, same situation here dvm. did you write about the class not included in your original application?

@danny_125- Thanks

@moose162- What is this about a "class not included in [my] orignal app..."?

He's talking about my situation where a 3000 level college class I took was not reviewed by the admissions committee because it was not factored into my HS GPA. Yes, I wrote about it, and also mentioned that out of all the applicants who applied to the summer program, 32 were accepted. They included students from all over Florida, from Miami to Pensacola, so it was actually a lot like real college.

Just got my appeal rejection letter... sucks. Hopefully things work out better for you, dvm.

Nope. Not here.

Appeal=Rejected

It's depressing not just because it was rejected, but because I will never know if they actually looked at my full academic record or stuck to their policy.

johnny and dvm where you guys planning on going?

that's 4/4 so far rejected after appealing. i'll make it all five when i get that letter.

I'm not sure. UCF is my #2 public college choice. I would have liked to look at Illinois Champaign instead, but their OOS tuition is through the roof (so much that it's more expensive than U-Miami for me) and I didn't get a scholarship.

DS was in your boat a year ago, except he didn't actually send in the appeal. 14xx SAT. 4+ (don't remember exact) GPA. Good EC's. It was baffling.

Things really do happen for a reason. Son is finishing an absolutely wonderful year at UCF in the honors college. Put this disappointment behind you. I'll bet a year from now you wouldn't transfer if you could.

Note to all - this is not a knock on UF. I'm also a Gator mom. But things tend to work out for the best.

Good luck to all, wherever you end up. I know you'll do great!

DEPENDING ON FINANCIAL AID:

Northwestern (Medill) or FL State Honors... OR U Miami... OR UCF...

hey, how long after your letter was received did they send back a reply? I still havent gotten mine....

Sorry for the disappointment guys.
@dvm Choose which college you feel would best fit your academic and career interest.

oh and what did they say in the letter? if u dont mind me asking

they said the same thing that there were too many qualified applicants and not enough space. i did hear that a friend of a friends got in but he was so smart that they were shocked he didnt get in in the first place. so its surprising that at least someone got in. at least we know theyre not rejecting everyone a second time.
