I got outright rejected a month ago and was wondering how the appeal process goes?

Elite I noticed your post on the rejection and while it may seem like you will be happy nowhere else, I am glad to say you will find yourself wrong. I have had 4 children that have applied or gone to college and only two of them got into their first choices. While the others were miserable about not getting into their dream school, they both ended up loving where they went and have no regrets. Everything happens for a reason. Maybe at another school you will have that one professor that helps you discover what you want to do with your life, or you may meet your future wife or life long best friend.

It may feel like the end of the world but trust an old father who got into his first several choices but parents couldn’t afford any of them. I had no regrets, my children haven’t…and trust me, a year from now you won’t once your settled in wherever you end up.

All the best!

I’ll be blunt: Don’t waste your time, and don’t waste the admissions office’s time.

If you really want to go to FSU that badly, start off at a community college, get your AA/AS/whatever, and then transfer to FSU.

Your profile that you have posted here wasn’t particularly good. There’s a reason that you were outright rejected right off the bat, especially considering that, for the December decision date, FSU tends to defer most people that are borderline instead of outright rejecting them.

There’s no harm in doing a 2+2 instead of all 4 years at FSU, if you’re really that dead set on going to FSU. A lot of people do it and have no regrets.

Ouch. That was a bit harsh. His profile wasn’t that bad, I just checked it. unweighted a bit low, but weighted was good. SAT’s though, are just too low. I do have to say, that since you have failed every AP so far, that is an extremely huge negative impact. Perhaps you didn’t have strong EC’s or any at all, since you never mentioned it. Not having any EC’s will hurt you. Since you got completely rejected, unfortunately, you have a low chance for appealing, since Pasbal is right in that sense. They do have a high acceptance rate, so again, that is a red flag since you were not waitlisted. I would try for 2+2, like Pasbal said. Best of luck!

A little cold reality for hopeful Florida State students. If there is anything we try to post here is that you must carefully prepare for admission years in advance. There is little or no magic here. Virtually every student in high school knows how or can find out how to be accepted.

Regardless of not achieving freshman admission to FSU, there is a clear and proven way to gain admission after you achieve an AA. The standards are also high, however. Make no mistake.

Good luck and work hard.

I honestly wished I had researched universities more. I sorta rushed when filling out my applications, and applied a bit haphazardly. By the time some of the deadlines had come, I had just found out about some cool colleges, and I missed some opportunities, which I regret. But, I have gotten into 3 so far, so that’s good. But I feel if I hadn’t rushed and had taken the time to carefully research colleges, I would have been way better off.
