I just found out yesterday that I was denied to my first choice school -- University of Illinois at Urbana-champaign. I've decided to try to send in an appeal explaining some of the circumstances I've been involved in.

My only concern are the requirements for the appeal as explained by UIUC.

"...Therefore, request for reconsideration should only be submitted if new and compelling information that is relevant to the admissions criteria not on the original application is available. Requests must be made by the applicant. The Admissions Committee decision made on your appeal is final.
The Admissions Committee will not consider seventh or eighth semester grades, new extra-curricular activities or awards, ACT or SAT test scores submitted after December 20th, or letters of recommendation."

My question is, what is considered "new and compelling" information if it is not any updated credentials? It seems that they don't want you to send in an appeal explaining some of your academic history, but any updated "new and compelling" information.
