Appealing UCSB

I have done research and have decided to appeal my rejection at UCSB, but i have a few questions. UCSB said they would most likely not have appeals done until after May 1, which is after you have to enroll at a UC. If i put down my deposit for housing and enroll in UCSC, and in the off chance that I do get the appeal, will I be able to rescind my admission at santa cruz and take the appeal easily? I've heard mixed answers about it.

Also, if I don't have any specific reasons I'm appealing (no grade changes, etc.) and I'm repealling on the fact that my UC gpa is 4.2 and I'm "making sure they got all documentation" etc. what are my chances for them to accept the appeal?

anyone know?

Don't know the process... but five years ago my nephew appealed to UCLA citing the stats of other students in his high school that had worse stats and who were accepted. He was admitted.

I don't think you can appeal if you "don't have any specific reasons". You need to have a reason to appeal (mistake on your transcript? missing ACT/SAT scores? etc.).
