Appealing UCSD denial letter

Hello everyone, I just found out two days ago that I am 4 units short of meeting the 60 transfer unit requirement to transfer to UCSD. I am freaking out. I have consistently met with a counselor every semester, at least once sometimes more, to go over my academic plan and make sure I have everything I need. I have over 100 units, I have completed IGETC, and I have completed all my prereqs for the Human Development program at UCSD that I applied to. Just last semester I met with a counselor again and they said that I had finished all the 60 units I needed to transfer.

All of a sudden two days ago I find out that I only have 56 transfer units! So therefore I’m sure my UCSD application is going to be denied and I am going to appeal by saying that I was given misinformation and I will take those 4 units this summer.

I signed up to take those 4 units this summer. I have contacted 5 professors to try and get letters of recommendation from them. I got accepted into UCR and my counselor said I should show that but that argue that I need to stay in San Diego because I help take care of my niece and nephew and also, I have Tourette’s Syndrome and all my doctors are down here. I am getting a signed letter from my brother and my doctor backing that up. And lastly I am going to try and get a letter from my counselor or the head of the counseling department vouching for me.

I created this thread for those who are also going to appeal a denial letter in hopes that we can share information on how to best submit our appeal and get them to change their minds in our favor. If anyone has any advice for me I would be very grateful.

I also submitted an appeal, have you heard back yet? all that shows up on my portal is that initial denial letter and nothing about appeal being reviewed or anything, or denied or accepted.
