Appeals letters and comments section.

Has anyone started their appeals letters just in case? You should be. If you write an amazing appeals letter and gather up letters of rec as well, you might have a second shot.

Also, has anyone put anything in the Berkeley update comments section? You should be. Why not? I was told that you should use what they give you, and if they give you another comments section you should probably use it to add to your argument for admission.

those comments sections are there to explain any discrepencies in ur grades, not to just put in random stuff.

you should put this quote on there. i’m sure they will like this:

90% of people lie on applications, resumes, letters, emails…it’s a tough world out there and you have to push your morals aside to get ahead. Depravity is not a sin if you use it to get ahead in life.

LOL 10char

You already started your appeals letter. Lacking a little confidence Vintij?

He probably put this in:

“Please accept me. I really want to go to your insert school here. I am the best of the best. I am smarter and better looking than all other applicants! Not only that, but I am also a superior being.”

Thanks,
Vintij

PS If you don’t accept me I’m going to write you an appeals letter and complain to my parents"

This is crazy… People actually think like this? I dont even think I would appeal if I dont get in…

Appealing is only worth it if there was a mistake or something. But you never know…you might have that .05% chance to get in :)

I mean I dont think that appealing is completely a crazy idea…but as for thinking and planning for it THREE months before the acceptance letters will be sent out for ucb… Kinda crazy!

Crazy according to who? Who makes these rules? I didn’t realize there was a universal consensus on the matter. Even if there was, why should I play along?

The point of the appeals letter would simply be to send in letters of recommendation from department heads adding perspective to your argument of appeal. Saying how great you are is not a sound argument. Sending a letter of recommendation from the dean along with a new circumstance, or some type of compelling information that was left out of the application IS. Otherwise the point of having an appeals policy would be pointless. I just think it wouldn’t hurt taking a chip at it for people who are borderline. If you disagree, great. You’re still going to carry on with your life having wasted 2 minutes writing responses, stroking your ego till its red.
