i just looked on collegeboard.com (which i believe to be the most reliable source for all things admissions) and saw 29% acceptance. i believe that is the new number becuase if my memory serves me correctly it was 31% last year. it gives the number of early decision apps/ acceptances but not the overall number.

Nope, 29% is the acceptance rate for my class (2009). They have yet to release the new statistics-- usually they update them toward the end of the summer.

I would not rely too much on CollegeBoard; my friends and I have gotten screwed a couple of times regarding the majors a school offers, and the standardised tests intel students are required to take. However, I suppose a simple acceptance rate statistic should not be wrong.
