Application Advice

Hello,

I applied to 3 different schools in February and they just recently updated their websites reflecting that they have received my information. The schools I applied to are University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Maryland, and Purdue. I'm still waiting to hear back from each of these schools regarding my admission.

I am currently attending a community college and have a GPA of 3.49 (currently). By the time I graduate I hope to have attained a 3.7 (expected). I am currently majoring in Computer Science and thus applied at each of these schools as a Computer Science major.

My question is should I be applying to more schools than just these 3? I graduate this semester and would really like to go to a college in fall but I'm not sure if I will get accepted to any of those schools. My main reason for even applying to these schools to begin with is because of their great computer science programs. I am really looking forward to going to a school that has a strong computer science program and is willing to work me! :)

Thanks.

Then, yes. You should definitely apply to more schools–not doing so will heavily jeopardize you’re chances of going to school come Fall. Are there easier schools to get into that you’re interested in, do you need financial aid, and what state are you from?

Well I am fairly confident about Maryland but I won’t know until mid April which will be too late to apply to other schools in case I don’t get in. I live in New Jersey and my goal is to go to a school out of state. I will need at least some form of financial aid from any of these schools. I am not sure about any easy schools to get in to, I mean I know that I can apply to Ramapo/NJIT/Rutgers in state and get in easily but I would rather not be forced to do that.
