I submitted my application about 8 hours after the deadline. I completed everything, they got my scores a while ago, and the application went through normally. Is there anything to worry about? Thanks.
I’m sorry, but I don’t think you’ll be considered. Michigan is serious about deadlines. Call their office.
Uh, maybe you should try asking someone in the admissions office and not CollegeConfidential.
Since you sent the application late, (hence the word LATE meaning after the deadline) you probably will not be considered, due to the fact that,
- It was not sent on time, so many other people applied Early Decision that were deferred, and many people applied at the correct time for Regular Decision, so they make decisions on a space available basis. Knowing that they get 50,000 apps a year, (and they waitlist a LOT of qualified applicants) unless you are the top of the top and they want you, then there's little to no chance.
- You have to submit ALL your papers (ACT scores, recommendation letters, transcripts) before February 1st or at least showing that they were postmarked to send on February 1st, so with that, once they begin reviewing applications, yours will be incomplete compared to those who actually submitted on theirs on time.
Either way, you already submitted you application, just hope for the best, there’s not much you can do now.
I asked and they sent it shouldn’t be an issue. I just have to wait for their email next week.
Whew–good for you!
Remember UMich RD is rolling. A late submission even before deadline may hurt your chance.
I wish I was more aware of that. I wondered why it was the latest.
