Application Dilemma

Hi all,

So I'm a transfer student at a UC campus (junior) and I'm looking to apply to some internships. Here's my problem:

As a transfer, my GPA was wiped when I came to this school (I had a 3.7 at the local college). I ended up getting one C my first quarter (long story) and now I have a 2.80. Basically, my GPA sucks because it's comprised of 3 classes. By the end of this Winter quarter (I'm taking 4 classes now) it will most definitely rise. Most internships I'm looking at say minimum 3.0 required. What should I do? Should I wait till the end of the quarter to apply when my GPA has gone up a bit and risk being too late? Or should I apply now and risk my current crappy GPA?

I'd appreciate any insight from people who have gone through this cycle, or know when I should be applying for summer internships (this quarter ends Mar. 23, so my GPA will only go up after that).

Thanks very much.

If the deadline isnt til after March, wait to apply.

If the deadline is below, go ahead and apply. List your high GPA across from your transfer school, and don’t list any GPA across from your current school. Technically you still meet the minimum GPA qualifications, it’s just a bad story to have to explain, how your gpa dropped so much, so only tell it IF they ask. Hen
