<p>How important to admissions is it to do the Essay?
Am ready to submit application but don't yet have the essay done - should I go ahead and apply now?</p>

<p>Thanks -- do you know this for sure? Are you a student there? Have everything else ready to submit just wasn't sure how important that essay is.</p>

<p>Essay: Focus on one activity, and discuss what you have gained from your involvement and how it would affect your student experience at Penn State. The purpose of this statement is to help us get to know you by going beyond the numbers included in your application.</p>
<p>If you really want to come to Penn State, why would you not take the time to answer the essay question? If I were in admissions and had two very similar applications, one who answered the essay and one who didn't bother, I'd go with the former. It's not what you would call onerous.</p>
<p>It's like not even an essay its like 100 words or something. I couldn't elaborate on anything to meet the lenght requirment.</p>
