Application essay

Hey I was wondering how important it is to fill out the entire 5,000 characters (which is a lot compared to anywhere else I applied to) because I think I have a pretty good essay but its only half of that? Also it is on religion which wasn't mentioned in the prompt do you think thats fine? Thanks in advance

A short but good essay is fine. an off-topic essay is a no no.

My d's essay was 3800 characters (with spaces) according to microsoft word. <g> Apparently, it was sufficient, as she was admitted in Nov. </g>

zebes

mine was roughly half the word limit, and i got in... but i would stick to the topic:)

it said cultural, political, social, or intellectual topic that you have explored and im pretty sure agnostism could be considered an intellectual topic so I think im ok. Thanks for the help

Yeah, my essay was ridiculously short (1800 characters) now that I notice it, but I thought it was pretty good. Hope that they don't look down upon it just because of it's length.
