Application Fee Waivers

Typically, how many application fee waivers do students get, assuming they qualify? If it matters, I live in California, am looking to apply to UCs and privates around the country. I go to a school where a substantial (but not a majority) amount of people may need application waivers.

Thank you!

4 from act and 4 from sat, however, some colleges may have their own waiver forms so you can use that instead of one of the 8. it doesn't matter if a lot of people from your school required it, as long as you qualify.

Wonderful, thank you!

Remember you can always ask schools separately from the official waivers. Last year, son's high school had never heard of waivers (he was in the first graduating class) and they didn't know how to provide them. We asked schools directly and most were fine and waived that way. This worked especially well with small private LACs, because they frequently have fairly flexible financial aid/admissions processes.

I sent in my first dads tax return with my name and his name highlighted showcasing the family income and all of my schools waived my application fee.

Our state schools had a separate fee waiver form and my D (bc her HS guidance counselor claimed to her there was no such thing as a fee waiver) found another one (name escapes me) but it was something like NACS.
