I may just be a bit paranoid, but I was wondering: How do you know if the admissions office has received your complete application? Is there an online database, or do you have to call the admissions office? Thank you :)

thats a question i have been wondering about too. i have been shooting emails to them but i haven't got any answer either. not good to resort to such pestering though; i feel almost guilty- but i would want to know that at least my full application's sitting on their tables.

precisely. one of my friends mentioned that i should call the admissions office, but calling seems a bit pushy.

for the EDers, once they've received your pre-app, they seem to create a folder in their system online, and send you a userid/password via physical post to access your page. They'll update your page to inform you about the status of your application. No news is good news. OTOH, if there's something lacking, I should think they would indicate such and give you a certain period to fill in the gaps.

Yup, expect a letter, guys.

DD accessed this online but nothing was there. She sent everything in very early and she knows they received everything because of self-enclosed returned postcards. Basically Dartmouth system is not ready for online status for RD.
